“Meet El Equipo (The Team)!” Every week, we are introducing the different parts of our Lemonade International team. This week, we are highlighting our Alcance Center cooks and shining a light on how they help provide the hope of Jesus and opportunities for communities in Guatemala City to thrive. This can only take place with the help of many different moving parts of the body of Christ.
1 Corinthians 12:12 says, “For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ.” This is true of our teams, teachers, staff, partners, service-learning volunteers, and especially our Alcance Center cooks. They not only make a significant impact in the lives of the children at the centers but, like a domino effect, help create healthier communities in Guatemala City. These eating habits established in childhood often carry into adulthood. Our cooks provide nutritious meals that help instill healthy eating habits while reducing their risk of obesity, diabetes, and other health issues later in life.
Preparing meals for children at a learning center goes beyond just providing sustenance. It is crucial for their physical health, cognitive development, social skills, and overall well-being. By prioritizing nutritious meals, our cooks contribute positively to the growth and learning experiences of the children under their care.
Continue to join us in prayer as one body in Christ for wisdom and guidance as our amazing cooking team nourishes, educates, and provides essential needs to all the children who walk through the doors of the Alcance Center in Guatemala. These are the people you partner with, and this is the impact being made. The generosity of donors like you provides the funding necessary to provide the meals that so many kids come to depend on.
