For La Limonada and Vidas Plenas, given by Tita:

• Pray for the Vidas Plenas team as we return to the academies after our vacations to be ready to be with the children and families once again. The month of January is like fish returning to the water! We are so happy to be back with the people we love.
• Pray for our team. Pray each of us can live and apply love and justice in our daily lives; and hunger and thirst for God, His word, and His righteousness. It is what we need most to do this work!
• Pray for the health of the team and the community.
• Pray for the new academy Toronja in the neighborhood, “15 de Agosto,” as we continue to work to launch it to full capacity.
• Pray for the psychologists who are walking closely with difficult stories of loss, trauma, and abuse.

For the Academies, given by the Academy Coordinators:

• Pray for the spiritual and physical health of the children and teachers.
• Pray for the safety of the community who live with constant threats.
• Pray for the first month of the school year – pray for the children to quickly bond with their new teacher!
• Pray for the children’s families.
• Pray for the teachers, who request prayer for God to continue to give them a willing heart to serve the community and offer their best to the children.

For Lemonade International, given by Katie:

• Praise God for all who generously gave to our year-end Give Christmas campaign. Through the outpouring of love and gifts, we surpassed our financial goal to begin the new school year in January.
• Pray for our partnership with Vidas Plenas, as we stand in solidarity with their work in La Limonada.
• Pray for deepened relationships with current donors, sponsors, and partners – pray for open hearts to follow God in the transformation of children and families.
• Pray for our Service Learning Trips – for each group member to experience personal transformation as they fully enter the classrooms and homes ready to listen, learn, and love La Limonada.

Prayers for La Limonada

You are the God who has set us in families and clans and tribes, in communities and in cities. We pray that you would be lifted up as Lord of La Limonada. We pray for the community today and for neighborhoods like it around the world. We pray for courage and wisdom for the leaders who work for justice. May La Limonada be a community that is known for compassion and forgiveness and generosity.

We join our hearts together today to pray that you would reclaim the places of assault as places of life. The places where violence has occurred we ask that you would reclaim as places of peace. The places that cause fear, anger, and pain, we ask that you would reclaiming as places of love, hope and community. We pray that the humanity of both victim and victimizer would be reclaimed.

God, we pray that you would redeem La Limonada and the people of the community from the pain and violence that has occurred. May it be a safe place, a place of love, a place of life, a place of hope.

We pledge to work toward a world free from violence and self-destruction, and full of love and hope. We commit ourselves to building community that is humane, compassionate, just, and filled with dignity.
