Our Mission
We stand with Guatemalan leaders to share God’s love and bring education, safety, and lasting opportunity to children and families in Guatemala City.
About Us
In 2004, a small group of Americans traveled to La Limonada, one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in Guatemala City. They came to serve alongside a Guatemalan leader who was already running an academic center for children surrounded by gang violence and poverty.
From the beginning, the idea was simple: Guatemalan leaders know their communities. They don’t need outsiders to run things. They need partners who will show up, listen, and provide the resources to keep going. That conviction hasn’t changed.
Today, we support multiple Guatemalan partner organizations operating academic centers across Guatemala City’s most vulnerable neighborhoods. Hundreds of children receive daily meals. Kids get tutoring, school supplies, mentoring, and a safe place to be after school. Young people who might otherwise be recruited by gangs find trusted adults and real alternatives. Through our partnerships, children receive nutritional support and medical care, many for the first time in their lives.
In recent years, we have welcomed new partners, expanding our reach into the San Cristóbal community. We redesigned our sponsorship model to protect children and direct resources where the need is greatest. And we are investing in the next generation of Guatemalan leaders who will carry this work forward.
Our Values
We support local leaders as they lead the way. Guatemalan leaders know their communities best, and our role is to resource their vision, not replace it with our own.
We honor the dignity of every person. Every child, parent, and community leader we work with is created in the image of God and treated accordingly.
We root our work in faith. Our calling to serve comes from Christ, and we trust God to bring restoration through the relationships and resources He provides.
We put relationships first. Programs matter, but the relationships between sponsors and families, between US churches and Guatemalan leaders, between neighbors, are what hold the work together.
We build trust through transparency. Every dollar, every decision, and every report reflects our commitment to honest stewardship of what donors and partners entrust to us.
