Last summer at a conference, my friend Chris Marlow, director of H.E.L.P., introduced me to Todd Hiestand, pastor of The Well. Todd and I connected right away because of our common passion for Guatemala, and quickly became friends. I have great respect for Todd – a multi-gifted leader who leads a great missional community in the suburbs of Philadelphia. As a matter of fact Todd helped us by upgrading and designing this blog.
Not too long after meeting we began working together to plan a trip to Guatemala for a group from The Well. After months of planning and preparation, Todd and a group of 13 others are in Guatemala now, learning from and serving the people of La Limonada.
A big shout-out goes to Chris Marlow for connecting us with Todd and for helping us establish a great new partnership. It is so powerful when non-profit organizations network for greater purposes. Thanks, Chris!
As you may know from a post from last week, Rivers Crossing in Kings Mills, OH sponsored 53 children from our schools in La Limonada following their service last week.
They followed up by sponsoring 9 more children and 2 teachers this past Sunday!! We’re so thankful to God for the new partnership we have with such a great community of people in Ohio!!
Here’s a clip from the conclusion of Jeff Sharp’s message on Sunday, June 13, where he explains child sponsorship to the church:
