Lemonade International has gotten off to an exciting and hectic start! Up until the past month we had spent the previous six months doing all the background stuff it takes to get an organization up and running (articles of incorporation, bylaws, 501(c)(3) paperwork, etc. Now we are in full swing…
While our friend Tita Evertsz and her team labor daily in the ghetto of La Limonada in Guatemala City, we are making ourselves available to be the voice of La Limonada here in the States. We have taken on the task of being the central hub of all financial support for the work in the ghetto as well as for the scheduling and facilitation of all short-term teams that will work in La Limonada.
Our plans to take our short film, “Such A Medicine Is Love”, to wherever doors are open. This idea first took us to Cincinnati, OH (just last week) and an incredible time with the people of Vineyard Central. Jeremiah and Sarah and the crew there provided us with the best hospitality we’ve ever experienced and new long term friendships were formed. Through their efforts, doors also opened to share about our work at Christ’s Chapel in Erlanger, KY and at Florence United Methodist Church in Florence, KY.
Over the course of the weekend we had more than 20 children sponsored and hearts were opened to supporting the work of Tita and her team in La Limonada!
