Thank You For An Incredible Year! Look What You Did…

It has been another incredible year serving the people of La Limonada!

In Guatemala City, La Limonada is known as a hopeless place, a place you wouldn’t dare go unless you live there. When people in Guatemala City refer to the community we serve, there is a common saying that often follows, “Even Santa Claus doesn’t go to La Limonada.”

But we believe it is a place of hope.

And we thank God that He goes to La Limonada.

We believe He is there every day in the hands and feet, the love and hugs, the food and education that is provided to countless children and families in the community. You helped make so much of this happen in 2011 through your generosity and love. As a matter of fact, look what you did…

53 students received scholarships to attend quality private schools and universities in Guatemala City.

240 children attended our schools where they were fed, loved and educated.

45 staff members (most of whom are from La Limonada) served the children and families through our programs.

15 entrepreneurs received training and loans to start or expand small businesses.

16 formerly abused and neglected children were provided with a loving home environment through our Safe Home.

More than 40 families were provided with pastoral care and discipleship through the Community of Faith.

So far you have helped to raise $13,320 of our $74,000 goal to provide shoes and school supplies for more than 300 children, a fair wage for more than 40 staff members and scholarships for 68 students.

Words cannot express our gratitude for your generosity and love. May we celebrate together what God has done and is doing in the lives of the people of La Limonada.

Take some time to look through the year in pictures…
