Reflection For The Week

“René Girard argues that one of the things that makes the Bible unique is that it is the only sacred literature in history to tell the story of the victim from the perspective of the victim and to see and uphold her innocence. Scripture gives voice to the voiceless and declares God’s solidarity with the victim, yet this is the very thing that is in danger of being lost within the North American church with our penchant for feel-good stories that uplift and inspire.”
