Five Dayton, OH area Friendly’s Restaurants owned by friends and partners, Kevin and Nona Peyton, just completed a monthlong fundraising and awareness-raising campaign they dubbed “Ocho Cinco” (creatively titled especially for Cincinnati Bengals fans in the area). Throughout the month they sold five (“cinco”) kids meals for eight (“ocho”) dollars among other things to raise funds for the “Mi Casita” Safe House that is being established in Guatemala for abused, abandoned and neglected children.
Kevin, Nona and the awesome staff at all five restaurants donned special t-shirts designed for the campaign and set out at the beginning of October to raise $4,500 by the end of the month – enough to support the Safe House Program for one entire month.
They tracked their results each week, adding a “friendly” competition between the restaurants (the restaurant in last place each week won the “Lemon Sour Sucker Award” and gift cards were given to the managers of the winning restaurant).
When the month was completed and the final numbers were tallied the restaurants raised a total of $5,958!!
Kevin personally gave an additional $42 to bring the total to $6,000 to support this vital program that will provide innocent victims with a safe place to call home.
Thanks to Kevin, Nona, the staff of all five of the Friendly’s Restaurants and every one of their customers who participated. As Kevin said, “This month you made a difference in the lives of some very needy children”.
