A Simple Gift -Shoe Donations

We have spoken about our friend Luis several times in the past. He doesn’t have anything besides a few belongings and the clothes on his back. Luis has lived on the streets for years, how many, he’s uncertain. Luis isn’t sure how old he is. Among many other things that Luis has never had… is a pair of shoes.

We know that God desires that the children and people who live in such extreme poverty can have the basic necessities that a child or person should have. What is fair. What is just. Maybe we can’t end poverty right now, in the day and age. But we can do something in their lives that make them more dignified, their lives a little easier, and they can know that God still acts today.

We all know that Christmas isn’t about “gifts.”
The real reason we celebrate is that our Savior has been born.

What could be better than celebrating by obeying His Word by sharing with those who are without?
What could be better than putting shoes on the feet of a few children?

By helping to buy these shoes, it doesn’t only benefit the children but also the family. Sometimes the reason a child doesn’t go to school is because they have no shoes. Without that basic necessity, they may go without an education that could help them break out of the life that they’ve known in the ghetto.

May the story of Luis not be repeated because today we know what we can do to make a difference. For $50, you can give a child a new pair of shoes and provide a meal for their family.

To give a secure online gift, please go to our Donation Page and choose the “Navidad En La Limonada” fund. In the comments box please explain how you would like your gift to be applied.

For more information on other Christmas gifts you can provide for children and teachers in La Limonada visit our “Navidad En La Limonada” page. As always, gifts of any amount will help significantly.
