A Note Of Thanks

Although it’s a little water damaged – here’s a page that was attached to the note
signed by everyone from the Proctor Academy group

This summer we have hosted several short-term groups that have served the La Limonada community with us for a week at a time. One recent group of students from Proctor Academy in Andover, NH spent a week in La Limonada sharing lessons about peace with the children from the schools. They also provided a fun day for the children from Mi Casita. The morning they departed for home they left a note of thanks that served as a huge encouragement to our team in Guatemala.

Dear Rebecca, Pablo & Tita,

¡Gracias por todos! We had a wonderful week spending time with your community and ministry. I deeply appreciate the care you shared our little group – and all the experiences you afforded our students. Your love, tenderness and patience are inspiring examples for all the students to learn from. Despite the poverty and incredible uphill battle many of the people in La Limonada community face on a daily basis, there is laughter, love and connection. That is remarkable – and a testament to your commitment to humanity. Thanks for making the world a more peaceful and connected place. And even though we didn’t pray over every meal – although we did pray often – our group stands in solidarity with your ministry and commitment to goodness of people. It has been an honor to walk with saints this week.

We’re grateful to group leader Adam Jones and the entire Proctor Academy group for their humble posture and openness to learn from the people of La Limonada.
