Reunion and happiness were felt by all in attendance as the Guatemala Team came together yesterday at a church in Guatemala City for our first meeting together after our December break.
Nestor, one of our team members who leads our Micro-Enterprise Program, helped to lead worship, which reminded us all that we are not only related to each other in ministry, but to God in His plan. We reviewed our “map of ministry” to inform and remind us each of our individual part of this body and plan.
Tina Breshears, Hubert Bendfeldt Vásquez and I explained our new roles, and then the group enjoyed lunch and laughter under the warming sun of Guatemala City. After Tita shared a devotional with the group, we all reviewed seven characteristics we want to exemplify as we serve the people of La Limonada: Humility, Simplicity, Purity, Service, Community, Prayer, and Celebration. Each of us received a candle from Sofia representing these characteristics as a reminder of their importance.
The day finished with games and songs led by Sarah and Edgar, and we have plans for more time together these next two days as a team before registration begins this Thursday!
Please pray for us and this vital work with the community of La Limonada, that we would do our best as we follow God’s leadership, and that His mission would be accomplished through all of us as we join together to serve Him.
